BUCKLE, Harry Hughes
On Friday, January 21, 2005, Harry peacefully slipped away to his eternal rest. Loving and cherished husband of Marion for 56 years. Dear father of Sherry (Buckle) and Mark Durieux, Calgary; Walter and his wife Mandy (Cole), Toronto; Douglas of Hamilton, Christine (Buckle) and Dennis Jacobs, Enniskillen, James and his wife Diane (Camp), Indian Harbour, N.S. Beloved 'Grandpa B.' of Meghan, Matthew and Emma, Calgary; Andrew and Gillian, Toronto, Maxwell, Samantha, Rebecca, Spencer and Adrian, Enniskillen; Tia and Mai Mai, Indian Harbour, N.S., Matthew and Madeleine Cole. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Harry, born in Tisdale, Sask. October 14, 1924, served in England and Europe during the second World War . Discharged in 1946, Harry later graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and completed post graduate studies at the University of Toronto. He worked as a manager for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce at a number of Postings in Ontario, California and Nova Scotia until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and member of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club for more than 40 years. He became a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Hamilton after returning to Toronto to complete his career with the bank. Funeral Service from Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Ave. West, Hamilton on Saturday, January 29 at 11 a.m. Interment at a later date in Victoria, B.C. The family would like to express its gratitude to all the staff at Shalom Village in Hamilton for the care Harry received during his final months. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Diabetes or Red Cross.
