HARRY EDWARD KENNEDYWe are grief stricken at the loss of our dear Harry. After a long and arduous battle with cancer, Harry passed away June 22, 2016, at his beautiful home on Lake Joseph, in Muskoka, with his adoring wife, Darlene, by his side.
Born in Camrose, Alberta, Harry was the middle sibling between two sets of twins. Predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn; father, Alfred; mother, Marjory and his sister, Dorothy. Survived by his wife, Darlene; son, Jason; daughter, Lee Cassie (Travis); grandchildren, Logan, Carter, Jack, Kate, Cooper; brothers, John (Candice), David Kennedy and sister, Jean Slemko (Clifford).
Harry graduated with a bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, where he went on to have a distinguished career with Xerox in Edmonton. Harry was a rising star becoming Edmonton's branch manager before moving to Toronto to become Vice President of Sales. Harry's entrepreneurial spirit next lead him to McDonald's and the purchase of his first restaurant in Leamington, Ontario. Always seeking opportunity, Harry moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick, growing his McDonald's market there to eight stores before selling 23 years later. Harry's retirement years were filled with travel, golf and enjoying good friends. Not a fan of cold weather, he and Darlene would leave their Muskoka home for winter months at their residence in Florida. Golf was on the calendar most days, always believing his 11th ace could happen in his next round of golf. Harry's years of playing and love for the game were evident should you engage in discussion or ask for information. He would also be happy anytime to oblige anyone, in a rules discussion.
It is said, if you take the number of friends you make throughout your life and multiply by 100, it will approximate the number of people you have inspired. Harry was indeed an inspiration.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ronald McDonald Children's Charities,
