Harry SOMERS Obituary



SOMERS, Harry Stewart C.C. and holder of several honorary Doctorates.
On Tuesday, March 9, 1999 in Toronto. He was born in Toronto on September 11, 1925, son of the late Ruth and Russell Somers. Harry leaves his wife, Barbara Chilcott; his brother, Robert Somers; nephews Michael, David and Harry; nieces Carol and Ruth; and a host of friends
composers, teachers, performers
from more than 50 years in the world of contemporary classical music. There will be a private funeral service. With Spring, a celebration of Harry's life and music will be held. Friends and family will be informed of time, date and place. If desired, remembrances sent to the Canadian Music Centre, 20 St. Joseph Street, Toronto M4Y 1J9, would be appreciated .
