Harvey was a treasured friend. He was funny, wise, kind and loyal. We shared the gold medal when we graduated from psychiatriy together at the University of Toronto and we both traveled to England along with our wives to continue our education. Harvey chose a career in research and developed a well-deserved outstanding international reputation.
When we were together we often spoke Yiddish to one another and we giggled a lot.
Harvey you were a remarkable friend.
Lena and I offer our condolences to Zelda, to your children and to your family.

Looking into and defining biological markers in medicine is a very important step, something Harvey tried and achieved from the very first steps in his career.
Everyone passes away, while some people's legacy last. Harvey's memories will last.

I am grateful for the time I spent studying with Harvey during my Masters 1993 to 1995. Many of the things I learned about measuring sleep, affect, and cognition remain in the work that I continue to do today. I always appreciated seeing Harvey at the annual sleep conferences to touch base.

I was very saddened by this news. I first met him many years ago. He was not only a very smart and productive researcher, but also "a real mensch". His accomplishments are legendary! He will always be remembered by many of us!
