KEFFER, Helen McKim (nee Fennell), 1908 - 2005
Passed away peacefully in her 97th year at Christie Gardens, Toronto on March 15th as a result of a heart attack. Helen took great delight in her extensive and loving family, showing intelligence and humour along with gentleness and warmth which were felt by everyone. She was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 65 years, James Wellington Keffer (1905-1991). She will be sadly missed by her children, James Keffer (Anne), Louise Ferriman of St. Thomas (Jack) and Janet Mackechnie. Cherished grandmother and great grandmother of David and Zora Keffer (Jessie), John and Aisling Keffer, (James and Rory), Kathleen and John Dench (Andrew, Laura and Carla), Mary-Jane Ferriman (Joshua and Samuel), Nancy Ferriman, Kathryn and Dave Muter (Daniel and Mary), Dan and Jennifer Mackechnie, Sandra and Ettienne DuPreez (Liam and Peter). She was born in Havelock, Ontario, and graduated from Victoria College (UofT) in 1930, where she met her husband, and lived the rest of her life in Toronto, with the exception of 1962-63 when they lived in Perth, Australia. Helen led a full and rewarding life, devoting energy and love to her family, church and community. Visitation at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. West, Toronto (416) 489-8733 on Wednesday, March 16th will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm, followed by a memorial service to celebrate her life on Thursday March 17th at 11:00 am in the Morley Bedford Chapel, officiated by the reverend Canon Alice Medcof. No flowers please. If desired, donations can be made to the charity of choice in Helen's name.
