Helene TOPP Obituary
TOPP, Helene
It is with profound sorrow and enormous regret that the family records the peaceful passing of wife and mother, at Memorial Hospital, Sudbury on January 24th, 2004. She has slipped the surly bonds of the earth and has joined her saviour Jesus Christ.
Mourned by her husband of 35 years, Robert, son Daniel (Tracy) and daughters Ann Elizabeth and Sarah Kathleen, mother and father Juliette and Rene Pilon, sisters Rita (Ian), Lise (Jack) and brothers Michael (Mary), Marc (Doris) and predeceased by brother Robert. Helene's extended family included nieces and nephews and a plethora of friends. She was an active member of our community and a loyal and caring friend. She will always be remembered with love and affection by the many whose lives she touched, including Karen and Jacques Abourbih; Harry and Jenny Bellay; Carol and Bill Czerwinec; Norma and Richard Clement; Ann, Summer and Geoffrey Mann; Monique Rodrigue and Linda Gillespie and Father Jean-Paul Jolicoeur.
Helene sacrificed her own interests for those of her family and it can be truly said that she loved her husband and children more than life itself. The accomplishments of her family resulted solely from her unfailing encouragement and support.
Helene was a happy person, her smile was capable of lighting up the universe. There is a new star in the galaxy tonight!
All through her battle she demonstrated remarkable courage in the face of pain and suffering she so quietly endured. Her final wishes were not for herself but for her family.
Helene wished special thanks to those dedicated doctors and nurses who so lovingly attended her during her illness.
The nurses of the Nephrology and Acute Care floors at the Laurentian Hospital and the Critical Care Unit of the Memorial Hospital, including the respiratory technicians and all other staff, demonstrated their professional abilities with an abundance of compassion for both Helene and our family.
Dr. Fay; Dr. Abourbih; Dr. Burke; Dr. Ron Faulk (UNC Medical Centre and his Team); Dr. Goluch; Dr. Kivinen; Dr. McMullen; Dr. Sandre and Dr. Zalen; demonstrated extraordinary zeal in their treatment of her illness. Their heroic efforts, compassion and encouragement made Helene's final journey easier.
Helene steadfastly refused to surrender and she left this world with dignity, surrounded by love in the presence of her husband and children.
