Herbert PERLMUTTER Obituary



PERLMUTTER, Herbert
Born on March 12, 1922, passed away suddenly and peacefully on December 1, 2011. Herbert is survived by his wife Bernice, three sons, Alan, Edward and Ronald, their wives, Cathy, Robin, Caroline, nine granddaughters, Heather, Lisa, Jenny, Sara, Mindy, Dara, Kayla, Elianna and Naomi. Herbert served in an overseas RCAF posting during WW2. In July 1948 married the love of his life Bernice and moved to London ON in 1949 to found and build a successful chartered accounting practice from which he retired in 1981. During his life he served on many public and University boards but was most proud of being President of Or Shalom Synagogue during its inception and building. He also served with many local and national Jewish organizations. Herbert was greatly devoted to his family. He looked forward to extended family dinners, and he gained much pride from all other occasions and successes of his growing family over the years. He enjoyed a profound love, knowledge and appreciation of fine classical music and art - the sounds of the Metropolitan Opera were omnipresent in the household on weekends. Funeral Services will be at Or Shalom Synagogue at 534 Huron St. in London ON, Sunday December 4th, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment at Or Shalom Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to LOGAN FUNERAL HOME (371 Dundas St., London, Ontario (519) 433-6181). Those wishing to make a donation in his memory may do so to UJA London, JNF or CNIB.
