HERSCHEL ROSNER Obituary

(1948 – 2025) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Herschel Ray Rosner, who died peacefully, at the age of 76, at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Herschel was the beloved husband of Linda, his devoted partner and best friend for 55 wonderful years. He was a loving and proud father to his son, Robert David Rosner, who carries forward his father's strength, humour, and kindness. Herschel dedicated much of his life to helping others. He worked for many years as a special education teacher in the City of Markham, where he touched countless young lives with his patience, compassion, and unwavering support. Later, he also pursued a successful career as a real estate agent, continuing to serve his community with integrity and care. Herschel was reunited with his cherished dog, Mattie; and leaves behind his loyal companion, Lucy, who brought him endless joy and comfort. A devoted husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, Herschel was deeply loved by many family members and special friends. His warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Herschel's memory will forever be a blessing to those who loved him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

So sorry to hear of Hersh´s passing. Hersh and I worked together for many years in the Special Education Department at Markham District High School. He was kind, caring and truly cared about his students. He made an impact on many of them. He spoke highly of his son and wife. He had a great sense of humour and often had a funny joke or story to tell. Gone but not forgotten. Enjoy the memories.

We will miss you Uncle Hersh . Richard and I always enjoyed our talks with you about travelling, and all the hidden gems you´d find in New York, a place you and Linda loved so much. I always appreciated the time you took to ask about my life, my hobbies, my work. Those little conversations meant so much, as it showed you truly cared about people. Your insights and knowledge were like no other, always with a story to share or a fact that no one knew about. You are now resting peacefully, getting kisses from Mattie, all your cats over the years, and of course Patches too . And don´t you worry, we will take good care of Linda and Rob and make sure they are surrounded by love always. Love you Uncle Uncle Hersh...so long for now . Lisa & Richard

Sweet Uncle Hersh was a multi-faceted man, a Renaissance Man. He was interested in what you were up to, was a great listener and had a wonderful sense of humour. He pursued his many interests and never let the grass grow beneath his feet, he was always up to something. He lived life to the fullest, going on many adventures in his lifetime. He enjoyed the nooks and crannies of what Toronto life had to offer. He enjoyed a great meal and a lively conversation. He was an empathetic special education teacher who truly tried to offer his students a well rounded program. He taught outside of the box and saw each student´s potential. We will miss his wise words and his chuckle when you were able to appeal to his humour. Much love Uncle Hersh for your kind words, encouragement and authentic interest in our lives. We will miss you! Love you, Red

Our beloved brother-in-law was a friend and loving dad, uncle, and husband. He spent many hours with our family and taught my children so much about making good choices and enriched their lives. He was funny, and witty, and loved to tell us about the many places he travelled to with Linda and Rob. He will be very sorely missed, and always remembered. We love you Hersch Shelley, Jerry, and family.
