DUNLAP, Hester Catherine (nee Cleveland) Passed away peacefully on January 26, 2005 at Victoria Hospice with her family at her side. Born in Vancouver, August 22, 1907, she was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Air Marshal Clarence R. (Larry) Dunlap. Survived by her loving son, David (Elizabeth); grandchildren, James (Kim), Hester (Sean), Charles (Lisa) and Allison (Graeme); great-granddaughter, Ella and sister-in-law, Edith Cleveland. Raised in both Vancouver and Victoria and educated at U.B.C. and U. of Michigan, she taught primary school in Vancouver until she met and married Larry Dunlap in 1935. She lovingly and loyally supported Larry in his R.C.A.F. career throughout many postings and appointments in Canada, Europe and the U.S. Their retirement years were spent in Ottawa and Victoria, where they made many close friendships. A gracious, generous and charming lady, she will be sorely missed and remembered always. Special thanks to Dr. David MacNaughton, the staff of Victoria Hospice, Rev. Canon Susan House, Rev. Nancy Ford and also to Judy Evans for her loving kindness and care the past three months.
Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Hester may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at
