Hugh Cameron West FRANKLIN

Hugh FRANKLIN Obituary

Hugh passed away peacefully, at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Isobel Franklin (nee McDonald); cherished father of Fraser and Colin Grant (Kelly); very proud grandfather of Riley. Hugh was loved and will be sadly missed by Joye Robertson and family. Born in Guatemala, attended grade school in Jamaica, then onto Ridley, RMC/'52 and U of T for Engineering. Hugh also held a Private Pilot License and once successfully crash-landed a Harvard after a mechanical failure. A bachelor until well into his 40's, Hugh quickly embraced family life. He was the king of barbequing, always measured his scotch exactly, and selectively turned a blind eye to the shenanigans of his two teenage boys. Hugh was thoughtful, considerate and a true gentleman for all of his 94 years. He had a wonderful life. Much gratitude extended to Dr. Cornell and the wonderful staff at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital. A celebration of life will happen in the late spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the hospital would be appreciated.
