September 21, 1931 – February 14, 2026 Dr. Hugh Hallam, 94, will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary; his children, Heather (Carl) and Iain (Rebecca); and his four grandchildren, Trevor, Syd, Evan and Claire. Hugh will be remembered as a talented and kind surgeon who helped multiple others extend their lives. He developed many personal interests over the years that included breadmaking, beekeeping, golfing, horseback riding, and playing the bagpipes in the 48th Highlanders. Hugh embraced Scottish culture, poetry, reading, and travel adventures. He was an avid walker, and he enjoyed engaging in intelligent discussions. For many years he rated golf courses; worked as a golf course marshal. For 25 years he volunteered translating books into Braille for the CNIB. Hugh lived a long, remarkable life, which he savoured privately without the need for fanfare. Respecting his wishes, he will be quietly cremated and remembered by his immediate family. Comforting thoughts and messages are welcome through
