SCULLY, Hugh Ballard
On Thursday May 18, 2000 in his 89th year, peacefully, with his family, in Toronto. Beloved husband of E. Joyce Edwards Scully. Loving father of Dr. Hugh E. Scully and his wife Vanessa Harwood, Peter B. Scully and his wife Alison MacLeod, and Brian M. Scully and his wife Collette Robert. A proud grandfather, he will be missed by Laura and her husband, Louis Joncas, Alexa, Shannon, Douglas and Katharine. Loving great-grandfather of Philippe Scully Joncas. Service to his country and commitment to family were the hallmarks of his life. A graduate of the University of Toronto, he served during W.W.II in the R.C.N.V.R., retiring as second in command of H.M.C.S. Stonetown of the Mid-Atlantic Patrol. Following the war, he joined the Department of Trade and Commerce in Ottawa retiring after 30 years of public service in Europe and Canada. Visitation at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, on Tuesday, May 23 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service for family and close friends at 2:30 p.m. Cremation. Donations, if desired, may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
