Ian DOIG Obituary

DOIG, Ian Michael

February 27, 1932 - March 10, 2012
It's with great sadness that the family of Ian Doig of Calgary, Alberta announces his passing at the age of 80 years. He will be forever remembered by his wife of 50 years, Marion; his children Nancy (Adrian), Janet (Jerome), Peter and David; his grandchildren Lindsay, Sarah, Kaela, Ty, and Cody; his sisters Heather Gibbons and Suzie Jannès as well as numerous extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Mitchell. Ian attended Westmount School in Montreal and then completed his High School education at Rothesay Boarding School in New Brunswick. He received his Degree in Commerce at Dalhousie University. His career in the oil and gas industry started in Calgary in 1960. For the last 29 years he ran 'Doig's Digest' which was an award winning and well quoted oil and gas publication. He was a long time member of the Glencoe Club where he and his family enjoyed many activities. Above everything else, Ian's greatest pride was his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. At Ian's request, a private family service will be held.
