DR. IAN GRANT August 14, 1956 - September 3, 2022 Ian Grant passed away peacefully in his home in Pointe Au Baril on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Loving father of Mitchell (Heather) and Andrew (Kelly) Grant. Beloved son of Eileen Grant, and predeceased by his father, Kenneth Grant. Cherished brother of Dave (Ann) and Kathryn Grant. Dearly missed by his two grandchildren, Everett and Stella Grant, known to them as Poppy. Ian will also be greatly missed by countless relatives, friends, and co-workers. Born in Rhondda Valley, South Wales, Ian grew up in Liverpool and moved to Canada with his family at age 10. He attended the University of Guelph throughout his undergraduate, Master's and doctorate degrees. He later used his education to become the President of Dupont Pioneer Canada, aiming to advance the corn, canola and soybean crop nationwide. Ian was known by others as a gentleman and a true leader, often offering concrete well-articulated advice as well as helping people to discover their true potential. After his retirement to Pointe Au Baril, Ian became well-known in the local community as a consult for connecting others to their own plot of Georgian Bay land. Ian enjoyed sitting on his deck, with a cup of coffee overlooking Georgian Bay with the sunrise. Ian held his family close to his heart. He especially cherished time with his two sons and enjoyed providing for his family. The arrival of his two grandchildren also brought extreme joy to his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Health Sciences North Foundation, specifically the Cardiology Unit in the drop down menu (
