Ian Alec GREAVES

IAN ALEC GREAVES March 30, 1948 - April 12, 2022 Born in Prestbury, England to Rene Price and Alec Greaves and immigrated to Canada via New York City on the Ivernia in 1956. Ian died in Niagara Falls, Ontario, having grown up in Ottawa and Hamilton. He leaves behind his wife, Faye (Cronmiller), daughter, Alison (Devan) and son, Peter (Sydney). Survived by his sister, Lorraine (JoAnn), nephews, Eric, Lucas, Simon, and Philip, and extended family in Canada, USA, and UK. Ian graduated from Ryerson University and the University of Waterloo with degrees in Business and Sociology, and with an MBA from the University of Buffalo. After a successful career in real estate and land development he joined the Ontario Ministry of Transportation focusing on Canada-USA bridge management. In his youth, Ian was an avid traveller, sailor, and saxophonist in a popular dance band. Ian lived with optimism and grit for more than four decades with MS, and served as President of MS Niagara, on the Ontarians with Disabilities Act Committee, the Niagara Falls Accessibility Advisory Committee, the Social Planning Council, a volunteer with Telefriend, and received the March of Dimes Breaking the Barrier Award. Ian was intensely curious, connected, and current, loved jazz, theatre, soccer, everything British, and lived life to the fullest. Donations to the MS Society of Canada.
