KNOWLES, Dr. R. Ian
, September 24, 1936-January 1, 2007. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our cherished husband, father, grandfather and friend on Monday, January 1st, 2007.
Ian, affectionately known to family and close friends as 'Strapper', will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love and laughter. Ian was the dearly loved husband of Joanie, devoted father of Karen, Kathy, Michael and Kelley, and adopted father of David. Adored father-in- law of Hugh, Rob and Doug. Remembered with love by his grandchildren, Joe, Jack, Griffin and Charlie. He is survived by his brother Jamie and sisters, Barbara and Mary. Ian will always be remembered for his incredible love for his family, his kind and generous heart, his devotion to his patients and his honesty and integrity in his practice and in life. He deeply loved the Georgian Bay and always took the greatest pleasure in the simplest of life's experiences.

A memorial service in celebration of Ian's life will be held at ST. CLEMENT'S CHURCH, 59 Briar Hill Ave. (Briar Hill Ave. & Duplex Ave.) at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10th, 2007. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ian's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
