LANG, Ian Wilson Unexpectedly on August 1, 2005 at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. Ian Lang, beloved husband of Marjorie; Proud dad of Julie and her husband Sean O'Reilly, and Lorna and her husband Brian Scharf; adored Grampy of Cameron and Allison Scharf. Ian is also mourned by his family in Scotland; mother Mabel, brother Richie and his family Arlene, Mark and Barry. Ian left his native Scotland to start his teaching career in Malawi, then he and his family emigrated to Canada where he taught Science at Bradford District High School and was Head of Science at Barrie North Collegiate for 23 years. After retirement, Ian was elected as Municipal Councillor for Ward 3 – Clearview Township, which lead to his appointment to the Niagara Escarpment Commission and service on the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and other environmental committees. A service in celebration of the life of Ian Lang will be held at The Station on the Green, 10 Caroline Street, Creemore, on Saturday, August 6, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. Donations can be made in his memory to C.O.N.E.
