I only found out yesterday of Ian's passing. I worked with Ian for the Lake of Bays Association. He was dedicated to lake stewardship, lake health and enjoyed leadership in many organizations and committees.
Ian succeeded me as President of the association. I too enjoyed his calmness and gentle approach to challenges. I am sad about the news. He will be missed in our Lake of Bays Community.

Dear Sue and family, Ian was a quiet kind man. Roy and I enjoyed getting to know him and his family being Neighbors at Lake of b a y s. I still remember him helping Roy dismantle our d o c k after the high water problem a few years ago. He loved cottaging and Lake of b a y s. He will be missed.

Sue & family- I was shocked to hear of Ian's illness earlier this year and then of his passing on April 30. I worked closely with Ian on LOBA (and succeeded him as President with his wise and thoughtful mentoring). Ian never had to raise his voice in meetings to get his points across- he spoke sparingly and clearly and only when he had something important to say. And everyone listened. We were so fortunate to have his thoughtful, elegant counsel at LOBA for so many years and we miss him. With my sincere sympathies and best wishes.
