Ida RICHTER Obituary
On Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Mount Sinai Hospital. Iris Lipfeld Richter beloved and loving wife to the late Max Richter (z'l), loving mother and mother-in-law of Peggy Richter and David Kornhauser, and Andrew Richter of Windsor, dear sister and sister-in-law to the late Gil (z'l) and Bev Lipfeld, and the late William Richter (z'l) and Susan Benjamin of Montreal. Devoted and doting grandmother of Raina and Sean, Zoë, Linnea, and Maya. Iris overcame the prejudices of the 1950's to earn a scholarship to McGill University earning both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree, and later completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at University of Ottawa. Iris was a font of wisdom and guidance, and a wonderful soul who touched everyone. Iris, together with Max, left an indelible legacy through their children and grandchildren. Their values will continue to guide to our lives. She (and Max z'l) will remain in our hearts forever. At Beth Torah Synagogue, 47 Glenbrook Avenue (south of Lawrence), for service on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Beth Torah Synagogue section of Pardes Shalom Cemetery. Public Shiva will be at Iris' condo 500 Avenue Road (at the southwest corner of Heath Street), Unit 1003, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, (after the funeral); and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Wednesday, December 17th, and Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; and Friday, December 19, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
