On February 9, 2004, in his 74th year. Don enjoyed a varied 41-year career with General Motors in Canada and the U.S. He was a tireless volunteer worker and fundraiser for Oshawa General Hospital, Oshawa General Hospital Foundation and Parkwood Estate. Loving and dearly loved husband of Joan. Loving father of David (Carrie), Kathryn Eckert (Ralph), Robert (Bonnie) and Douglas. Granddad of Kevin, Kyla, Jason, Tiffany, Kenneth and Madeline. Predeceased by brother Albert and sister-in-law Marlene. Brother-in-law of Gary and Eleanor Mighton. Friends will be welcomed at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, (905) 433-4711. Visitation Wednesday, February 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Kingsview United Church, 505 Adelaide Avenue East at Wilson Road, Oshawa, on Thursday, February 12 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oshawa General Hospital Foundation, 1 Hospital Court, Oshawa L1G 2B9 or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
