Jack COOPER Obituary

JACK CHARLES COOPER April 10, 1947 - April 6, 2023 Jack passed away at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary Margaret (Maggie) Cooper (née Berlinguette). He will be forever loved by his two children, Adam Cooper and Shannon Cooper (Laura Toombs). Jack is survived by his brother, Gary Cooper (Bonnie), extended family members, nephews, and nieces. Jack graduated from the Western Business School (1970) and continued successfully in business as an accountant where he was a respected leader and friend. Jack was proudly on the Boards of the Dorothy Ley Hospice and the Harold Ballard Foundation. Giving back to his community was his passion. Jack's other passion was cooking. He completed the "Jack Cooper's Family Cookbook" with many of his favourite BBQ recipes. After retirement, he continued golfing and travelling with friends and family. Celebration of Life will be held at the Lambton Golf & Country Club, April 23 from 3-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice. https://dlhospice.org

Maggie - Jack was great friend, especially in my early business days. We played a lot of tennis at Kew Gardens when he lived down on the East End. It brings a smile to my face when I remember another smiling face asking (after an October party at my Weston house), "What about your accountant? (dressed as Chef Pierre if I remember correctly) Glad that worked out so well! Condolences on your loss! Sorry I didn't hear sooner, and that I didn't keep up too well after I repatriated.

Jack was a good friend and mentor in my early years of business. We played a lot of tennis at Kew Gardens when he lived on the East End. It also brings a smile to my face, remembering a party hosted at my house in Weston, and at the end of the party the smiling face that asked, 'What about your accountant - (dressed I think, as Chef Pierre) - Jack Cooper"? Glad it worked out so well! Condolences on your loss. Sorry I didn't hear sooner.

I've known Jack for only about 9 years, ever since he moved into the Riverhouse community. His contribution to the community as Chair of the Social Committee during those years is most appreciated by all. He is also well known for his BBQ cooking, especially his outdoor parties cooking for the entire building. I have not met a person who didn't like Jack and enjoy his company, a good man and fine gentleman. He will be sorely missed by all.
Our sincerest condolences to his wife, Maggie, who was always there for Jack and worked tirelessly for both Jack and the Riverhouse community.
