JACK SMITH Obituary

Jack Neil Smith, born January 2, 2007, in Guelph, Ontario, passed away tragically in a car accident on October 30, 2025, at the age of 18. Jack was a shining light in the lives of all who met him. He had a lust for life, an incredible zest for living, and brought fun and laughter to everything and everyone around him. He lived each day to the fullest, valuing hard work, fitness, close friendships, family, and having a good time. Jack was a driven and ambitious entrepreneur, proudly coached by his dad, with the assistance and inspiration of his brother. Wise beyond his years in business, he began his grass-cutting business at just 16. By the following summer, he had grown it enough to hire a full-time employee. That business became Maintenance Moose, and in the winters, he added a snowplowing service. After graduating from John F. Ross Collegiate Institute this past June, Jack dedicated himself entirely to his business, vowing to achieve great success. Jack's passions were many: he was a newly avid golfer, a lover of hockey (though often found in the penalty box), a fitness fanatic, and a true outdoorsman who loved fishing, summers in Honey Harbour, campfires, boating with his family, and recently learning to ride four-wheelers with his mom. His radiant smile, handsome good looks, and incredible charm left a lasting impression on everyone he met. From an early age (nine months), Jack looked forward to annual winter trips to St. Lucia - a place filled with memories of sunshine, laughter, the ocean, and time spent just being together. Above all else, Jack's heart belonged to his family. He is survived and forever cherished by his mother, Renee, and brother, Chris; his father, Jon, his wife, Kristine, and her daughter, Colbie; grandparents, Barb Saunders and Neil and Muriel Smith; Uncle, Dave Smellie, and Aunt, Suzanne Beck; and his beloved four-legged friend, Lexi. Though his life was cut short, Jack's light, love and laughter will echo in the hearts of all who loved him, forever illuminating their lives. A visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2723 Victoria St. N., Breslau, Ontario, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. A funeral service to honour and celebrate Jack's life will be held immediately following the visitation on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., at Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, with a lunch reception to follow. "I tell you most solemnly, you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to Joy. For I shall see you again, and your hearts will be full of joy, and that joy no one shall take from you." – John 16:20 and 22

While we didn't know Jack personally we are long time friends of his step Mom Kristine. There are no words for such a tragic loss and one of such a young soul taken way too soon. Out thoughts and prayers are with the family and all who loved him. May Jack rest in peace. We are so terribly sorry for your loss.
