Dear family of Willem,
We were neighbours of Willem on Parkland back in the 90s, and remained friends with him. We cherish our memories of Willem - so amazing, adventurous, and full of joie de vivre! His energy and presence always lit up the room. Our heartfelt condolences to you all. Love, Nancy and Kieran

Dear family,

We are all thinking of you. Willem has been a rock to all of us. A forever loving, generous, compassionate, kind, thoughtful, reflective (always trying to become the best version of himself), spiritual and a wonderful eccentric fun friend, who made a difference in our lives. We will always remember with fondness the many gatherings at his place in Mississauga while listening to jazz over his famous 3 course meals (home made onion soup, smoked salmon with pears, and lamb with radishes).

His spirit was unique. He drank life in one sip! His sense of adventure spurred him to travel and discover new places where he inevitably made a difference, which he did in a magnificent way in Bolivia!!!! Way to go, Willem!!!!

We are so grateful for the 25 years we were lucky to share with him - and this is not the end: his love will remain in our hearts forever.

Buen viaje Amigo del alma! A descubrir otros mundos maravillosos!!!!!
Hasta siempre!!
