Ruth Sutherland Obituary
LANCASTER: Ruth W. Sutherland, age 93, of Lancaster, OH, formerly of Northridge (Dayton, Ohio), passed away Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Rockmill Rehabilitation Centre in Carroll, Ohio after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 11, 1917 in Mt. Sterling, KY, daughter of the late Walter & Bessie (Shrout) Alfrey. Ruth was a retired employee of Rikes Department Store and a member of the 25-year club.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lauren in 1992; Ruth is survived by her son, Larry F. & wife, Sandra Sutherland of Pickerington, OH; and two grandchildren, Matthew Lauren Sutherland and Erin Elizabeth Schindel & husband, John.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, May 6 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rockmill Rehabilitation Centre, 3680 Dolson Ct., Carroll, OH 43112 in Ruth's memory.
