HEBERT, The Honourable Jacques THE HONOURABLE JACQUES HÉBERT 1923 - 2007 In Montréal, on the 6th day of December, 2007, Mr. Jacques Hébert, aged 84, died of complications due to cancer. He is survived by his children Michel, Pascale, Isabelle, Bruno and Sophie; his three grandchildren Laurence, Max and Jeanne; his great-grandson Victor; his brothers and sister; as well as the mother of his children, Thérèse Desjardins. They, along with many friends, family and thousands of young people across Québec, Canada and the world, join together to mourn his passing. Writer, editor, politician and globe-trotter, he was always driven by the same ardent passion for youth and cultural discovery. Founder of Canada World Youth and Katimavik, he worked as a senator from 1983 to 1998, but was first and foremost a dedicated humanitarian, an idealist championing justice and liberty. In accordance to his last wishes, he shall not be exposed. His funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14 at l'Église St. Viateur d'Outremont, located at 183 Bloomfield (corner Laurier) in Montréal. Instead of flowers, donations sent to Canada World Youth, Katimavik or the Fondation québécoise du cancer would be appreciated. Direction Alfred Dallaire Memoria
