JAMES PLATT CORISTINE 1918 - 2018 James Platt Coristine, 'Jimmy,' passed away peacefully on March 21, 2018 at the age of 99. Jimmy was an honorable, intelligent and wonderfully humorous man and will be missed by his family and devoted friends. Predeceased in 2012 by his wife, Agnes 'Aggie' (Good), his beloved companion of 63 years. He is survived by his children, Bill, Susan, and Philip; and spouses, Maura, Kevin, and Naomi. Grandchildren, James and Niall, will deeply miss their 'Pop.' Jimmy was born in Montreal and served with the Three Rivers Tank Regiment in Italy and Holland during World War II. As a tank commander, he named his tank 'Aggie' after his future wife. Aggie took great care of him in war as she did throughout her life. He had a long and successful career in finance and taxation, principally with the Iron Ore Company of Canada. In retirement, he and Aggie enjoyed extensive travel in Europe and England, biking and hiking. Most of all, he relished the months he spent at his summer home in St. Patricks, Quebec with his family. He and Aggie enjoyed the outdoors in all seasons; birdwatching, cycling, hiking, skiing, and playing golf and tennis. The family is especially grateful for the wonderful staff at the Place Kensington in Montreal where both Aggie and Jimmy spent their last years. Many of them have become like family themselves. In lieu of a funeral service, a memorial celebration for friends and family will be held this summer in St. Patricks.
