CREIGHTON, James L.
Peacefully, with his family at his side, after a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, December 1, 1998, at the North York Branson Hospital. Born on August 24, 1934. Retired from U. of T. after 30 years as Archivist with the Faculty of Music. His passion for the violin led him to become internationally recognized for his achievements primarily the Discopaedia of the Violin, Masters of the Bow Series and his extensive collection of rare classical recordings. Jim, loving father of Taryn and her husband Glenn Creighton-Young, Gayna and Jerrold. Proud grandfather of Shane, Devin and Brennen. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (N. of Lawrence), Weston on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 7 p.m. Cremation. The family conveys their thanks and appreciation to the caring people at North York Branson Hospital. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the North York Branson Hospital.
