JAMES (JIM) EDWARD CRIGHTON December 10, 1960 - December 18, 2021 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jim into the hands of Jesus. Jim passed away at his home in Stittsville after battling cancer for two years. Much loved husband of Shirley, who passed away in August of 2020. Jim leaves a son, Samuel, his parents Jacintha and Edward, his sister Elizabeth (Christopher), his brother Rupert (Genevive), and their sons and daughters Jeremy, Sally, Fisher and Gordon. Jim also leaves his very caring sisters-in-law Mildred , Tess and Melanie, their sons and daughters Ralph, Jerron, Kiley, Gabriel, Abby and Lexa. Jim was born in Toronto and grew up in the family-friendly environment of the Beach neighbourhood in the 1960's. After moving with his family to Oakville for his teen years, Jim attended Western University graduating with a business degree. Jim spent most of his professional life in the insurance industry as an underwriter, working in several cities, before settling in the Ottawa area and spending the last 15 years in Stittsville, where he enjoyed the sense of community found there. Jim was active in the Church and community, having a circle of friends who provided much-appreciated support over the last few months. Jim loved watching his son play hockey, talking about politics, boating, and having friends and family over to enjoy his backyard. The home he made with Shirley was always a bee-hive of activity. A kind and generous man, Jim lived his life with his heart.
