DAVIDSON, Dr. James Watt M.D. F.R.C.P. (Glasg)
Dr. James (Jim) Davidson passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Villa, Dundas on May 10, 2010 with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Jim is survived by his loving wife Nancy and children; Graham Davidson, Jim and Jeanine Davidson, Carolyn and Tim McIntyre, Ian and Noriko Davidson. He leaves behind five wonderful grandchildren; Lindsay and Claire Davidson, James and Alex McIntyre, and Noriko Davidson. He also leaves sisters Sylvia Davidson of Toronto and Rosemary and Peter Preece of England. Dr. Davidson was born in Klye of Loch Alsh, Scotland January 30, 1930. He graduated at the top of his class from The University of Aberdeen MB, CHB in 1953. After moving to Canada with his family in 1965, he began an illustrious career as a clinician, researcher and teacher at the University of Toronto and associated hospitals. Jim moved to Hamilton, Ontario in 1974 and continued his prolific career in medicine at McMaster-Chedoke Hospitals. He went on to establish and run a significant group of radiology clinics in Hamilton Ontario and surrounding region. Jim was a strong willed independent minded Scotsman. He was an avid tennis player, golfer and skier. He enjoyed playing the piano and will be remembered for entertaining the members of Holimont ski club with his Scottish ballads. A memorial service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Avenue West, Hamilton, Ontario at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010.
