Many cliches have helped me through my losses ...
"Grief is the price one must pay for lov(-e, -ing)."
"Those who have crossed over are never 'gone'. As long as there is memory, they remain alive in hearts and minds."
"They may have crossed over, but they still walk with you every day."

I met Jim some time ago, when he invited me down to his cottage in Gananoque. I remember his generosity and wit and always enjoyed talks with him. Back then I signed Jim up as a “Pleasure Craft Operator Card” examiner. I remember his delight in being able train people and issue this card to all that would request it! I also remember Jim’s knowledge of, and collection of Art. He will be missed by many.

My condolences to the family
Jim was a sweet and generous man. I worked with him at Trimark.
Jim was loved by those who worked with him because he always wanted
what was best for them. He wanted you to succeed in both your work
and family life.
He was always good natured and offered a smile every time you saw him.
He will be missed by so many

Dear Philip, Family, and Friends: What a loss - what a wonderful man! We have known Jim since the early 70s. We did a lot of celebrating, partying, and activities with him, Miles, Billy, and the rest of the group from that era. A kind, generous, extremely funny; and a fun-loving man with a keen intellect and a passion for whatever he was doing. He was much loved and will be missed. We are very sorry for your loss. Please let us know whenever you plan an official memorial service as we would love to attend. Bill Byrd & Robert Milkovich

Jim called us last Monday and we talked, laughed and reminisced for over an hour. We will always be grateful to have had that last conversation with him and will treasure it forever. Everyone that knew Jim, knew he was a special guy and very generous.
As his former travel agent, I saw firsthand how generous he was. Throughout the 90’s, if a friend or acquaintance of Jim’s was terminally ill and financially unable to see their family or a close friend one last time, Jim would pay for it. Most times, they never knew who their benefactor was.
Marilyn and I met Jim and Miles when they first arrived in Toronto some 35 years ago and became friends instantly. That friendship has only grown as the years have gone by and we are especially pleased that Jim and Philip were our witnesses when we got married.
Our hearts are broken but our memories are many.
With sincere condolences,
Linda & Marilyn

I had the privilege and honor to work with Jim for the purchase of his Palm Springs home “a couple decades ago.” Always a smile, very well intentioned and a consummate gentleman! Philip was a truly incredible addition to Jim’s well-lived life. If not interchanged with Jim’s first name, “Travel” was at least his middle name. Again, Philip helped create and shared countless memories. God Bless and GodSpeed!

I am shocked when my son informed me of Jim's death just a few minutes ago ! Jim and I were colleagues at Trimark Mutual Funds for 6 years. He was very supportive of me when I first started at Trimark in 1994. In my opinion, he is one of the best ever wholesalers in our beloved industry. His sense of humor is contagious and I never recall hearing him saying any bad word about anybody. He is gone but his signature smile and good jokes will remain with us !
Our condolences to his loved ones.

im - my God, I can't believe that you are gone (we just chatted a couple weeks ago about how it's been too long since we visited). I first met you when I joined the financial services business in 1994 and we have been friends ever since. It's been an honour and a privilege knowing you and heartfelt condolences to family, friends, and Philip. ❤ ❤ ❤

We are both so saddened to hear of this sad news. We have been friends & have loved Jim for over 40 years. In fact we even attended the same High School at the same time, though we didn't know each other well at the time. We will miss his keen sense of 'sick' humour & his generous nature. Our condolences to Phillip & Jim's family.

Such great sadness. Dear friend. Always offering a willing ear and sympathetic shoulder. Connection dwindled when Jim and Myles relocated from Edmonton to Toronto. Loved his updates from wherever he was travelling. Just recently reconnected.

Jim was one of the world's great residents. He was a gentleman and fun to be around. You will be missed and I will remember fondly “the hump that nearly broke the camels back”. A joke we shared over his Reno’s at his Rosedale condo. Rest In Peace Jim and share that great sense of humour with the residents of heaven.
