James (Jamie) Gordon, 64 years old, owner of James W. Gordon Insurance, passed at Northumberland Hills Hospital on March 21, 2025. For 2 short months, he fought a tremendously aggressive cancer. Devastated, he leaves his wife, Kim (Novinka); sons, Alex and Connor. Younger brother to Mark (Kathy) and Laura McCracken-Ebbrell (John). Brother-in-law of Bob (Nancy) and Nancy (Mike Cussen). Adored son-in-law of Dorothy Novinka. Fondly remembered by 12 nieces and nephews, and 12 great-nieces and nephews. Shocked and saddened, he leaves countless friends, colleagues, clients, Rotarians and community members. Predeceased by his brother-in-law, Brian McCracken ('08); father-in-law, Ed Novinka ('17); his mother, Ruth ('20) and his father, Jim ('21). Jamie was born in London, Ontario and grew up in Cobourg. He proudly graduated from Queens University ('83) with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Bleak job prospects in his field led him to undertake a job at the family business, Gordon Insurance. Jamie marked his 40th year as an insurance broker in '24. He was a Past President of both the Kinsmen Club of Cobourg and the Rotary Club of Cobourg. Club members enjoyed his quirkiness and quick-witted humour. He took on and participated in many club positions and social events with enthusiasm. Jamie was a longtime member of Dalewood Golf Club where he could be heard laughing with his usual foursome. For more than 30 years he enjoyed a weekly game of volleyball. Jamie served as the Chairperson of the Discipline Committee for RIBO. His favorite pastime was sitting in the cabana by the pool with Barney. Special thanks to Emma, Mark, and Scott. You somehow made the last 2 months less difficult. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, May 4th at Dalewood Golf Club, 7465 Dale Rd., Cobourg from 1-4 p.m. Remarks at 2p.m. If desired donations may be made to Canadian Sarcoma Research,
