James MCNAB Obituary
JAMES A. (JIM) MCNAB Jim died peacefully December 10, 2021, at the age of 94. Husband of the late Grace E. (Betty) McNab, he is survived by sons Bruce, Ross and David, and grandchildren Andrew, Ashley, and James. Jim is lovingly remembered by his family as a man of great intellect and integrity. He was also a leader in the public health care field, serving as president of Toronto General Hospital and North York General Hospital, and in senior leadership roles at the Hospital Accreditation Board and the Ontario Hospital Association. Jim was a pioneer of professional hospital administration, and champion of community and geriatric care delivery, helping to shape the hospital system Ontarians benefit from today. At his request, no funeral service will be held. Remembrances can be made by donations to charity.

Jim was among the first to send me a note of congratulations when I first joined the OHA executive team in 1976. I well remember Jim offered to assist me in any way he could, and I subsequently came to greatly value his wise counsel.
Everything Jim did in his professional life was devoted to the betterment of our hospital system. He was a true gentleman, and a man of consummate integrity.
It was a great privilege to have known him.
