PISZEL, JamesJames Imre Piszel, in his 85th year, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in London, Ontario, on February 23, 2016.
Jim was predeceased by his wife of 34 years, Estelle and is survived by his children, Jane (Tom Tillmann), Martin (Nadine Piszel), Lloyd and Beth (David Park). He was the proud Pops to Suzanne, Will, Robert, Connor, Amy, Katie, Estelle, Chloe and Duncan.
Jim's family immigrated to Toronto from Hungary in the 1930s, where he grew up with his brothers, Steve, Zollie and sister, Irene. Jim was an entrepreneur at heart from the time of his first job at age 14, at the Campbell's Soup Factory, until he retired at 75 from running his own business machines company. He was very house proud and was always busy renovating and gardening. Jim loved to support the many endeavors of his children, always present for the game, recital or event, big or small. Jim was always kind, patient and loved by all. He kept in touch with his boyhood Mimico friends, who were very supportive of him during the last years of his life. He will be dearly missed by Lois Allen, his friend and partner for many years. Lois and her family lovingly welcomed Jim into their family and they spent many happy years together in Toronto, and travelling in Muskoka, Jim's favourite place.
