RICHARDSON, James Clarke
With deep sorrow, the family of James Clarke Richardson announce his passing, in London, on Saturday, February 17, 2001, in his 87th year. Left with many marvellous memories of happier times are his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Ila Olwyn (Thompson), his children Dianne Nelson and her husband Tom of Beeton, Ontario, Philip and his wife Theresa of Toronto, and Dean and his wife Wendy of London. He leaves his adored grandchildren Amanda Nelson-West and her husband Chris, Mark Nelson, Kim, Kelly, Karen, Caitlin and Courtney Richardson. He also leaves his dear sister Isabel Horn and is predeceased by his siblings Howard, Rachel, Clifford, Evelyn and Mabel. With a lifelong dedication to the field of education, Clarke's professional career began in Mount Forest. He later served as a Superintendent of Operations in Durham Region. A new school due to open next year in Durham Region has been named in his honour, the J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, Richmond Street at St. James, London. Visitation will continue at the church during the hour preceding the Funeral Service which will be conducted on Wednesday, February 21 at 1 p.m. in Siloam United Church, 1240 Fanshawe Park Road East, London, by the Reverend Dr. David Williamson. Private family interment to follow at St. James Cemetery, Lucan. In memoriam donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be gratefully acknowledged.
