JAMES TELFER Obituary



JAMES GORDON TELFER C.A., April 2, 1918 - July 9, 2004 Dearly beloved husband of Joy Riddel, proud and loving father of Sheila (Michael Watts), Lorna (Peter O'Brien) and James (Gail Stratton). He will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren, Gordon, Alex, Fiona and Patricia Watts and James, Robert and Daniel O'Brien. Predeceased by his parents James and Jean and his brothers Robert and David. Gordon was born in St. Lambert, Que. He graduated from McGill University, Commerce '39. During World War II he served as an R.C.A. Major with the 2nd Heavy Anti-aircraft, and formed the first World War II Canadian Radar Battery in Europe. After the war he earned his C. A. and had a distinguished career in business retiring as the Vice President Finance of Montreal Trust Company. A resident of the Town of Mount Royal for over 50 years, he was an avid sportsman all his life and was an Honorary Member at the Royal Montreal Golf Club and a Past President of the T.M.R. Curling Club. He will be fondly remembered by many relatives, nieces, nephews and cousins in both Canada and Scotland. A service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 Mount Royal United, 1800 Graham Blvd. at 11:00 a.m. If desired memorial donations may be sent to the McGill University Health Centre Foundation, 2155 Guy St. Suite 900, Montreal, QC, H3H 2R9.
