JAMES WEAVER Obituary
Jamie died on July 19, 2025, his 44th birthday, of metastatic melanoma. He was the wonderful son of Gerry Weaver and Carolyn Tate; husband of Clare Hacksel; father of Lucy and Raines; brother to Nick; uncle to Nina; and brother-in-law to Amy Evans. He was adored by his aunts, Mary Tate and Martha Weaver; uncles, Howard Tate and the late Stephen Weaver; and a large and vivid group of cousins. He had a deep network of close friends and colleagues from around the world. Jamie's first love was his family, and he was passionate also about his work as an epidemiologist and medical statistician. He was hugely regarded and cherished by his colleagues at Johnson & Johnson and Oxford University, where he was recruited into the D.Phil program. Jamie was a lifelong runner and a lover and maker of good food, art, music, literature, and fashion. He was treated with skill and compassion at Princess Margaret Hospital by Dr. Marcus Butler and Dr. Jenny Lau, among others. A celebration of Jamie's life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2 p.m., at the East Room, 50 Carroll Street, Toronto.
