FIELD, Jane Coate Hargraft
Jane died peacefully at Cobourg on 5 January, 2000. She was born at Chatham in 1906, the daughter of Philip Coate and Eva Louise Beatty. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Hargraft, her husband Alan Field, her son Michael Hargraft and her sisters Phyllis Stratford and Dorothy Bermingham. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Field Forrester, her daughter Eve Hargraft Roberts, her daughter-in-law Marni Hargraft, her son-inlaw Edward Roberts, by her grandchildren Janet McKee, Sue Dalley, Alan Forrester, Kate Forrester, Jane Hargraft, John Hargraft, Jessica Webb and Alison King; by nine great-grandchildren, and by her Stratford and Bermingham nieces and nephews, particularly Graham and Gay Stratford and their six boys. The last of her generation,, Jane lived her life by the principles she was raised to treasure; courage, fortitude and commitment to family. She was loads of fun, loved a good story and was a wonderful amateur actress. She was lovingly cared for by the staff of Legion Village of Cobourg and of St. Elizabeth. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, King St. E., Cobourg on Saturday, January 8, 2000 at 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery.
