JANE JASINSKI Obituary

(November 7, 1931 – November 20, 2025) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Jane Celina Jasinski, on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the age of 94. Jane was predeceased by her loving husband, Rene Eric Jasinski; and her sister, Clementine Banas. She is survived by her two children: Ron (Annie Munro) and Wanda (Mark Cowie); as well as six grandchildren: Matthew (Laura Thompson), Michael, Alexandra (Alex Josephson), Madison (Ryan Klein), Kensington, and Benton; and her four great-grandchildren: Jack, Allegra, Sienna and Arabella. Born in Montreal to John Pilat and Sophie Lubera, Jane had a lifelong passion for music and the arts, attending the École des beaux-arts de Montreal, ultimately training as an opera singer. She had a remarkable ability to elevate the everyday, infusing her home and the lives around her with grace, life and effortless joy. But the role she cherished above all was being the heart of her family. Jane was, in every sense, the epitome of love, kindness, and devotion. She paid attention to every detail, whether in conversation, in a meal she prepared, or in the thoughtful gestures she offered without ever being asked. She had an extraordinary way of making each person feel seen, heard, and deeply loved. A perfectionist with boundless warmth, Jane balanced her artistic gifts with an entrepreneurial spirit, building a business importing fine European women's clothing, which could be found in the finest retail stores across Canada. Her sense of style and fashion were impeccable and remained so throughout her life. Her family was her life's work and greatest joy. She instilled kindness, fairness, integrity, and ambition and an unwavering sense of love in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her dinners were legendary and prepared with the utmost care and precision. There was nothing more enjoyable for her than getting her family and friends together to share a meal. All of this was done not out of a sense of duty but from a place of love. She gave endlessly and joyfully, and the warmth that she brought into the world will live on in each person she touched. Jane leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, compassion, and family devotion. Her presence will be profoundly missed, and her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. A private family service will be held.
