Jane LASH Obituary
JANE LASH (née Magee) 1937 - 2019 Jane Lash passed away peacefully on January 28, 2019 surrounded by a gathering of wonderful people who loved her deeply. Her three children Wendy (Peter), Jennifer (Art), Catherine (Stephen), and grandkids Sophie, Ben, Molly, Dexter, Adelaide, and Jane will miss her always, especially on the beach in Cobourg, around the table at the Farm in Collingwood, and by the ocean in Sointula. In her early years, she was happiest with her siblings Sally, John, and Martha at her grandmother's farm and the cottage at Jackson Point. She later married John Lash and they moved to New York, Sarnia, and back to Toronto. Later in life Jane settled in Collingwood. When Jane entered the workforce after raising her children, she worked at the Perfect Mix, All the Best Fine Foods, and Canada Blooms where she was a creative influence and mentored many by sharing her skills and work ethic. Close to her heart were her many volunteer positions including running the craft program at Camp Oochigeas, reading with her young students at Connaught School, supporting families at Campbell House Hospice, and many more. Jane was on a life long journey for peace and understanding. She was inspired in many ways - through friends, Buddhism practices, and the serenity and teachings of Holy Isle. Everyday Jane gave love to those around her. And throughout her life, that love was returned by many people including lifelong friends and her many nieces and nephews whom she adored. Her family is forever grateful for the support and kindness in the final days. In honour of Jane, please consider a donation to the Campbell House Hospice or a charity of your choice. To celebrate Jane's life there will be a Gathering of Wonderful People in the late Spring.
