At Grace Hospital, Toronto, with
loving family and friends.
Daughter of Ruth Ann and John
Rowland, beloved sister of Ann,
Poppy and John, cherished aunt
of Gabe (Adriana), Eric
(deceased) and Michael, and
adored great-aunt of Chloe and
godmother of Zöe Ritts.
As a publicist Jane worked with
many authors including Leonard
Cohen, Timothy Findley and
Douglas Coupland. For
institutions and organizations
including Trent University, The
Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada,
Indspire, The Native Women's
Resource Centre of Toronto
(NWRCT) and the Roberta Bondar
Foundation, Jane raised funds
and built ongoing relationships
with donors. A lover of all the
arts from textiles, and folk art to
theatre, Jane was also
passionate about reading,
education and humanitarian
causes. She volunteered with
Pathways to Education and
Human Rights Watch.
Jane's greatest talent was for
friendship, connecting the
people she loved with each
other in shared enthusiasm for
all the good and important
things in life. She will be missed
by her many friends in Toronto,
Keels, Newfoundland, Europe
and the United States.
A celebration of Jane's life will
be held in the new year.
Cremation has taken place.
