Jane SIMS Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Jane Elizabeth Sims, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Sunnybrook Hospital with her daughter Maureen by her side. A dedicated English and ESL teacher, Jane spent much of her life with the North York Board of Education, and upon her retirement she continued to teach as a volunteer at the Don Jail. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and survived by her children, Gavin (Kari), Carol Anne Sargent (Morgan), Maureen (Cesar Pevez); her grandchildren, Riley, Sarah, Kathleen, Martin, Sofia; and her brother, George (Marilyn). Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at St. Gabriel's Parish, 670 Sheppard Ave. E., with a reception to follow at the Heintzman House.
