Janet TELFORD Obituary
TELFORD, Janet Candlish Bell (nee McNeil)
At the Palliative Care Unit of the Baycrest Centre, following a difficult battle, well fought, with cancer. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 13, 1917, she was proudly Canadian for 52 years. Left to grieve are her son Peter, daughter-in-law Carol, daughter Fiona, son-in-law Ralph Benson, and her grandchildren: Jessica and Matthew Telford; and Ryan, Jenny and Rebecca Benson. In Scotland, she leaves her sister Flora Paxton, her brother-in-law Robert Anderson and her dear nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John (1993), and by her sister Jenny and her brother George. She was a stalwart friend, and a devoted wife, Mother and Grandmother always. This final and most difficult year was borne with such courage, graciousness, good humour and quiet faith that we were all filled with admiration and pride. The family wishes to thank all the staff of 6 West at Baycrest for their care and kindness; special thanks to Nerissa for taking such good care of ;Mother Telford. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral service in the chapel on Monday, July 24, 2000 at 11 a.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baycrest Foundation.
