Janusz Dukszta Obituary
Janusz passed peacefully on July 31, 2025. A man of refined taste, keen intellect, and generosity, he devoted his life to art, culture, and community. Beloved husband of Max; cherished brother of Andrzej; and dear friend to many, he leaves behind a legacy of an open heart, sharp wit, and loyal friendships. A celebration of Janusz's life will be held Friday, August 15th, with a 10:00 a.m. viewing and 12:00 p.m. service at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne St.

A remarkably interesting person with a strong social conscience and empathy for the marginalized, Jan Dukszta told me that many of the problems of his patients (he was a psychiatrist) could have been helped or resolved with improvements to social services and other factors (like housing and income security) which contribute to general health and well-being. That is why he became a provincial MPP and served at Queen's Park before returning full time to his psychiatric practice.
