JEAN HATTON Obituary
April 29, 2025 Jean was born in Winnipeg 96 years ago, and lived in Mississauga (Clarkson) for 60 years, most recently at the Walden Circle Retirement Residences. She and her husband, Raymond (d. 2016) were prominent in the community: Jean, through early years of canvassing for charities, librarian at Lorne Park Public (events and storytimes), participation in the Christ First United Church (as librarian, hiring panel, Spring Fling volunteer, and sometimes actor), in retirement as dog boarder and walker; Ray through his antique car club activities; and both through their decades long social bridge parties. Jean died suddenly and painlessly, after a full life, diminishing in recent years due to loss of friends and family, and also memory. Yet, she maintained an appreciative attitude to the end, commenting on how wonderful the spring sun felt, just two days before she died. Jean was loved by her four children, Bill, Catherine, Rob and Janet, and their families, including her four grandchildren, who plan a private service.
