Jeffrey PARKER Obituary

JEFFREY RICHARD PARKER July 5, 1983 - December 6, 2018 (aka Jay Tripper) Left us too suddenly on Thursday, December 6th without a chance to say goodbye. He was a larger than life presence in all of our lives, who will be deeply missed by his parents, Patty and Dick; his loving partner, Kevin Flynn; by his beloved sisters, Alyson (Duncan) and Megan; and his niece and nephews, Kaiya, Crew and Beckett. He leaves behind his extended Parker family in Grimsby and Toronto, his York family in the US, and his Robertson family in Kingston and Toronto. He also leaves behind a devoted community of friends whom he touched through music and art in Montreal and Toronto. He was a talented graphic design artist and left his own impressive mark on the live and electronic music scene. He was the Poster Boy of Poster Boys. He marched to his own drummer, had a wicked sense of humour and a heart of pure gold. We will miss you Jeffers. Jeff has been cremated and the family wishes to invite everyone whose life he touched to join us on Friday, December 14th at 2 p.m. at The Opera House, 735 Queen Street E., (east of Broadview). Short speeches will begin at 3 p.m. Thank you to St. Michael's Hospital and the ER Team for their efforts to save him. Something not meant to be. In lieu of flowers and in his memory, if desired, please make a donation to Covenant House or Sick Kids Hospital and lend a hand to someone in need. Media are asked to respect the family's privacy and not attend.

I remember Jeffrey as an exuberant little guy at North Toronto arena. He was a good player and was always full of smiles when I taught him how to play hockey. My sense of his soul at that age as he was full fun and laughter. He will be surely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I am so deeply saddened to hear of Jeff's tragic passing. I haven't seen Jeff in 20 years but I had the privilege to know and coach Jeff in hockey for 3 years when he was in middle school. All the wonderful descriptions I've read about him in the paper and online as an adult certainly applied then too. His parents, Patty and Dick, were the true salt of the earth and the apple did not fall from the tree. My heartfelt condolences to the Parker family.
