(September 25, 1968 – August 28, 2025). After a long courageous battle with cancer, Jennifer, age 56, died peacefully with her daughter, Peri, by her side. Jennifer is survived by her mother, Jane; husband, Dave Smiley; daughter, Peri, and her father, Joe; brothers, Tim (Jacquie), Ian (Jenn), Peter (Susie); and sister, Martha; along with her many beloved nieces and nephews. As the youngest of five siblings, Jennifer was born in Toronto to Jane and Bruce Currie. The family settled in Cambridge, Ontario, where Jen attended Glenview Park Secondary School, excelling in athletics, and then moving on to obtaining her BA in English from Trent University. Jen "Jaz" loved her many summers at Camp GV, where she made lifelong friends. Jen's passion for Haliburton continued as she became a cottager on Gull Lake, balancing her distinguished career as a senior executive in the insurance industry (Unica Insurance). Jen had an eye for design, a truly generous spirit, and a beautiful infectious smile that reflected her fun, and caring personality. Her love and strength will leave a lasting impact on her family, friends, and co-workers. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9th, at 1:00 p.m., a service at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception, all taking place at Trinity Anglican Church, 12 Blair Rd., Cambridge, Ontario. The family wishes to thank all Jen's caregivers at Lisaard House and Juravinski Cancer Centre. Donations can be made to Lisaard House.
