JENNIFER DIETRICH Obituary

(nee Stothers) It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Jennifer Dietrich (nee Stothers), who left this world far too soon on February 19, 2025, at her home in Oakville. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Jack and Eileen; and cherished sister, Stephanie (Brian Pierce). Jennifer was the heart of her family, and her absence leaves an immeasurable void. She is mourned by her devoted husband, Mark Dietrich; and their two precious children, Tae and Annie, who were the very center of her world. She also leaves behind her brother, Paul (Ellen); Mark's parents, Joe and Joanne, and his brother, Chris; and many adored nieces and nephews. Her countless friends and extended family - who were drawn to her warmth, wit, and boundless generosity - will forever feel the ache of her loss. Born and raised in Oakville, Jennifer's childhood was filled with love, laughter, and deep-rooted friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her adventurous spirit and relentless drive took her to New York City, where she carved out a remarkable career, pioneering development for North America's first e-commerce platform. Beyond her professional success, it was the life she built in New York that truly defined her. It was there that she met the love of her life, Mark, and together they created a home in Chelsea that became a haven for family and friends. Whether hosting unforgettable gatherings, enjoying live theatre, indulging in the city's newest restaurants, or cruising to Sag Harbor with Mark at the helm of their boat, Jennifer embraced every moment with joy and passion. When it came time to start a family, Jennifer and Mark returned to Oakville, buying back the home she grew up in - a place filled with memories, now woven with new ones. She poured her heart into building a warm and welcoming home for Tae and Annie, becoming the mother she had always dreamed of. Her love for them knew no bounds. She delighted in every milestone, every family ski trip to Ellicottville, every adventure across the world. She made their lives magical, just as she did for everyone who knew her. She also had time to launch her own consulting company, Willow Strategic Marketing, named after the giant willow trees that graced their front lawn. Jennifer's world was forever altered by the devastating loss of her sister, Stephanie, in 2008. Out of her grief, she found a purpose-dedicating herself as a passionate and successful fundraiser and director at The Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children, ensuring that others navigating loss would never feel alone. Jennifer had a rare gift for bringing people together. Her home was always filled with laughter, music, and the warmth of those she loved. She was a masterful host, a trusted confidante, and the kind of friend who made you feel truly seen and cherished. She once wrote of her own mother that she was "never happier than when everyone was gathered together." The same is undeniably true of Jennifer. Her absence is unfathomable, her loss immeasurable. The world is dimmer without her light, but those who loved her will carry her warmth in their hearts forever. She will be missed beyond words. Visitation will take place at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville (905-844-2600), from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville (905-844- 3303), at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Donations may be made in Jen's memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association (cmha.donordrive.com) or to "Steph's Place" at the Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children (www.grievingchildrenlighthouse.org). Jennifer was amazing as a host, entertainer, friend through thick and thin, and often in unexpected ways. I saw Jennifer at Christmas helping a young teenage boy who was begging for money outside our nearby Shoppers. I did a double take as I realized she goes beyond in ways I´ve never seen anyone, let alone myself do. I do hope she and Steph share a bottle of white wine more frequently now that they are together again. A tremendous loss.
