JEROME SEGUIN Obituary

JEROME SEGUIN Peacefully, surrounded by family, at London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Hospital, on Friday, September 30th, 2005, Dr. Jerome Joseph Seguin, Professor Emeritus, University of Western Ontario, of London, Ontario. Beloved husband of Denise. Dear father and friend of Lisa Seguin of Ottawa, Danielle and her husband Jamie Bush, Damian, Maurice and his fiancée Katherine Kaliciak, Denis and his wife Leslie Anderson, all of Toronto, and JeanPaul of London. Loving grandfather of Nicole, James, M.E., Jen, Jessica, Julian, Christian, Nicolas and Oliver. Brother of Ric Seguin and his wife June of Dundas, and brother-in-law of Mariette Seguin of Montreal, wife of the late Denis Seguin. A distinguished and respected scientist, with a more than 50 year-association with the U.W.O., J.J. will be fondly remembered by colleagues and former students around the world. A beloved patriarch, he leaves a rich legacy and a strong and loving family to carry on his vision of a world where people do unto others as they would have others do unto them. A devout Catholic, he would surely see no coincidence in his leaving this world on the feast day of his very namesake, St. Jerome. The family acknowledges with gratitude the kind and excellent care provided by the staff at Victoria Hospital in the A.C.E. and I.C.U. units. Heartfelt thanks to Father Ken O'Keefe of Brescia University College for his comforting presence during the final days. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of J.J. are asked to consider the Save A Family Plan, 1040 Waterloo Street, London, Ontario N6A 3Y1 (519) 672-1115. Westview Funeral Chapel (519) 641-1793, www.westviewfuneralchapel.com, entrusted with arrangements.
