In Southampton on Saturday, May 2, 1998. Dr. Joan Kent of Saugeen Township, Southampton and Toronto, at age 49. Best friend, loving companion, devoted partner and loved wife of Ian Cummings. Gentle master to her poodle Gracie and her cat Jackie. Dear stepmother of Jessica, Amy, and Mathilda. Also survived by her father Charles F. Kent of Southampton and formerly of Toronto and Cobourg, her sister Patricia Jean Kent and her husband Marc Guy Verrier of Erin and her nieces Lauren and Chloe. Daughter-in-law of Leonard and Nancy Cummings of Toronto. Sister-in-law of Deborah Thompson of Winnipeg, Elizabeth Smart of Calgary, Joan Cummings of London and Susan Demers of Windsor. Predeceased by her mother Grace and one infant brother. No visitation. Cremation. A Celebration of Joan's life will be held in the Chapel of the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton, Ontario, on Friday, May 8, 1998 at 11 a.m. A time of Remembrance and Fellowship will follow in the Family Centre of the Funeral Home.
