(nee Burns, July 18, 1931- August 14, 2025) Joan passed away suddenly, at Casa Mia, in Vancouver, at age 94, after a long and happy life. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves behind her children, Yolande Paine (Bill), Michelle Hopkins, Johanne Enemark (Gary), Gerard (Penny) Vancouver and Eugene (Karen) Charlottetown; grandchildren, Rachel, Oliver, Mathew, Jeff, Nicholas, Kevin and Luc; as well as eight great-grandchildren; her sister and brother, Maureen Driscoll, Halifax, and David (Christine), Toronto; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eugene (2007); her parents, Jack and Mary (Cahill) Burns; her brothers, Terry and Kevin; and brother-in-law, John Driscoll. Joan was born in Halifax, the eldest of five children in a multi-generational family. She was bright, had a killer sense of humour and a great sense of style. She will be sorely missed. Donations in Mom's name can be made to BC Cancer or a
Charity of Your Choice. Until we meet again.
